So far, so good. Over the past two months we have been able to conduct around six experiments with the MCF 7 and Caco 2 cells. We have controlled hyperthermic conditions such as temperature and heat therapy exposure time. We will continue doing this experiments, until further information regarding post-treatment cell survival is obtained.

My name is Orlando Soto. I am a sophomore student in the Industrial Biotechnology Bachelor’s Program of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. This is my second college research experience, given that I worked in the Microbial Biotechnology and Bioprostpecives Research Laboratory in the Department of Biology during the past year. I am currently working in a research project lead by Dr. Madeline Torres-Lugo, an assistant professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering.
